Mr Nail Natural Series Nail Art Brushes come in 13 shapes, sold one brush at a time: gel and builder brushes, a French brush, liners, art brushes and a stippling brush. Most have Toray nylon bristles, and all share the same natural camphor wood handle. W520 is the one to look at for nail form extensions, because its C-curve bristle follows the inner groove of the form.

Highlights

  • The Toray bristles are soft but hold their shape, and they lay gel down smoothly without streaks. They resist gel buildup, keep a precise tip and pick up an even amount of gel.
  • A triangular nameplate set into the wood stops the brush from rolling off the table.
  • The bristles are pressed in without a seam, so handle and ferrule read as one piece.
  • The short handle is balanced toward the tip, which keeps the brush light in the hand during long sets.

Before first use

  1. Soak the bristles in warm water to moisten them. Do not leave the brush standing in a cup, because that bends the bristles.
  2. Work the bristles on both sides to remove the factory sizing glue, then blot on a paper towel.
  3. Condition the bristles with brush conditioning gel or builder/UV gel before you start.

Good to know

  • Keep brushes away from light, including UV lamps and sunlight through a window. Either can cure gel left in the bristles.
  • After use, wipe off excess gel with a lint-free wipe, clean with a dedicated brush cleaner, reshape the tip and recap.
  • Avoid cleaning with water or alcohol once the brush is in use. Both leave the bristles dry and frizzy.
  • Condition and clean in one direction along the bristles, never back and forth or side to side. Keep a separate brush for glitter gel.
  • Line the cap up carefully so no bristles get caught outside it.
  • Sizes are measured by hand, so small differences are possible.
  • Available from our Markham, ON store, shipped across Canada.
