How to choose waxing supplies
- Strips are for soft and roll-on wax. Hard wax sets on the skin and is lifted by hand.
- "Soft" and "hard" describe the cloth. On Lotus and Silk B rolls the words tell you how firm the fabric is, not which wax it is for.
- One stick, one dip. Take a fresh spatula every time you go back into the pot.

Waxing supplies FAQ
Are "hard" waxing strips meant for hard wax?
No. On Lotus and Silk B rolls, Soft, Medium and Hard describe how firm the cotton or muslin is. All of them are used with soft or roll-on wax; hard wax needs no strip.
Which waxing spatula size should I use for each area?
Use a short stick for brows, lip and chin and a long one for legs, arms and back. Silver Star numbers its sticks MB9 (105 mm), MB2 (114 mm), MB3 (140 mm) and MB1 (150 mm); Sharonelle sells Facial and Large.
What is a wax warmer collar for?
A collar is a disposable ring that sits around the top of the wax can or pot and catches drips, so the warmer stays clean. Silk B makes round and square collars for single and double warmers; change it when it gets messy.
