      How to choose nail glue

      • Match the glue to the tip. Plastic tips and press-ons go on with tube glue or liquid bond; soft gel tips go on with a gel adhesive cured under a lamp.
      • Thin or thick. A thin glue sets fast in the tip well; a thick brush-on resin fills gaps and suits wraps and repairs.
      • Buy by the box for stations: KDS, Volcano Spa, USN and BeBeauty tubes come in bags and boxes.
      • Cap it straight away. Air-dry glue hardens in an open nozzle, so wipe the tip and close the tube after each use.

      Nail glue FAQ

Tube glue, resin or gel adhesive: which nail glue should I use for tips?

Tube glue is thin and sets in seconds, for plastic tips and quick fixes. Brush-on resin is thicker and fills gaps, so it suits wraps and repairs. Gel tip adhesive cures under a UV/LED lamp and is made for soft gel tips. When in doubt, use the glue the tip maker recommends.

What glue is best for press-on nails?

Jelly glue tabs hold a press-on nail for a shorter time and peel off without soaking, which suits clients who change looks often. Liquid nail glue holds longer but has to be soaked off. Clean and lightly buff the natural nail first so either one sticks.

How do I take off nails that were glued on?

Soak the nails in acetone or a nail glue remover until the glue softens, then ease the tips off; do not pry them off dry. If glue bonds skin, soak it in warm soapy water and ease it apart. Finish with cuticle oil.
