CND FAQ
Where can I buy CND products in Canada?
M1 Nail & Beauty Supply stocks about 260 CND products at our store in Markham, Ontario, from Shellac and Vinylux to Plexigel, Brisa and Retention+. Pick up in store or order online for shipping across Canada. Salons and nail technicians can apply for a wholesale account.
What is the difference between CND Shellac and Vinylux?
Shellac is a soak-off gel polish: base coat, colour and top coat, each cured in a CND lamp. CND rates it 14+ days, or up to 21 days with Epic Smoothing Base. Vinylux is a long wear polish that air-dries. CND makes the colour self-adhering, so it needs no base coat and no lamp, and rates it 7+ days. The Long Wear Top Coat is fully dry in 8½ minutes. More in our CND guide.
Which CND Shellac base coat should I use?
Base Coat is CND's base for normal nails, rated 14+ days. Epic Smoothing Base primes and smooths in one layer and extends Shellac wear up to 21 days; CND makes it without free HEMA monomer.
Which CND Shellac top coat should I use?
CND matches the top coat to the nail and the removal time: Original for normal to weak nails (8-minute removal), Duraforce for weak, brittle nails (15-minute removal), Xpress5 for normal nails with a 5-minute removal, and No-Wipe, which leaves no top film, for chrome and nail art (8 to 15-minute removal). Our CND guide has the full table.
How long do I cure CND Shellac?
In the CND LED Lamp, CND gives 10 seconds for Base Coat (preset 1), 1 minute for each colour layer (preset 2S) and 1 minute for the top coat (preset 3). In the Visible Light Lamp 3.0, Base Coat takes 1 minute. Both lamps are made to cure all CND light-curable systems. Apply colour in thin layers; thick layers can wrinkle.
How do I remove CND Shellac?
Use Offly Fast with CND Foil Remover Wraps. The time depends on the top coat: 5 minutes for Xpress5, 8 minutes for Original, 8 to 15 minutes for No-Wipe and 15 minutes for Duraforce. Offly Fast also removes Vinylux and liquid and powder enhancements.
Which CND acrylic liquid is best for clients who lift?
CND makes Retention+ Sculpting Liquid for lift-prone clients; we carry 4 oz, 8 oz, 32 oz and the 1 gallon. Odorless Sculpting Liquid (4 oz and 8 oz) is the low-odour option. Prep with NailPrime, which CND describes as acid-free, and build with Perfect Color Sculpting Powder.
Can I mix CND Shellac colours?
Not in the bottle. CND says Shellac colours should not be mixed together, but you can layer one shade over another.
