A salon uniform is the coat, top or apron staff wear over their clothes, so the team looks consistent and polish, dust and products stay off their own clothing. M1 Nail & Beauty Supply stocks Silver Star lab coats SS-001 to SS-005 in white or black, plus pink, purple and spa uniforms, a white uniform jacket and salon aprons from MNBS.

How to choose a salon uniform
- Colour for the work. Black hides polish and product marks between washes; white looks crisp but shows stains sooner.
- Check the size range. Silver Star coats run X-Small to X-Large, the Pink Uniform L to XXXL, the Spa Uniform L to XXL, the jacket Large and X-Large, and the Purple Uniform is one size.
- Two per person. Two sets for each staff member lets one be washed while the other is worn.

Salon uniform FAQ
Lab coat, uniform or apron: what do nail techs wear?
A lab coat covers the arms and most of the clothes and gives the most clinical look. A uniform top is lighter and suits a warm salon or a spa room. An apron covers only the front and goes over any outfit, which many technicians like for pedicures and waxing.
What size lab coat should I order?
Silver Star lab coats come in X-Small to X-Large. Order the size you wear in a jacket, and go one size up if you wear a sweater underneath in winter or want extra room to reach across the table. Order one first if you are kitting out a whole team.
How should salon uniforms be washed?
Follow the care label on each piece and wash uniforms after every shift, apart from towels that carry chemicals. Treat polish or product marks early by blotting rather than rubbing, and test any remover on an inside seam first, because acetone can damage some fabrics.
