Nail stamping moves a design from an etched metal plate to the nail: you fill the plate with stamping polish or gel, scrape it clean, pick the image up with a soft silicone stamper and press it on. M1 Nail & Beauty Supply stocks stamping plates, stampers, scrapers and silicone charm moulds from Mr. Nail, Kaniu, MNBS and YHH.

      How to choose stamping supplies

      • Clear stamper heads let you see where the image lands, so you can line it up with the cuticle and sidewalls.
      • Use stamping polish or gel. Stamping needs a thick, strongly pigmented stamping polish or stamping gel; ordinary polish is usually too thin to pick up a sharp image.
      • Moulds need thick gel. Fill a charm mould with solid builder gel, carving gel or 3D gel that holds its shape, then cure it in the mould.

      Nail stamping FAQ

Why does my stamped image come out patchy?

Usually the polish dried on the plate before you picked it up, or the plate was not scraped clean in one pass. Work one image at a time, scrape at a low angle with light pressure and stamp within a few seconds.

Do I need top coat over a stamped design?

Yes, once the stamp is set. With polish, let it dry and float a top coat over it without dragging the brush; with stamping gel, cure the design first. A top coat seals the image and stops the fine lines from wearing off.

How do I get a charm out of a silicone mould without breaking it?

Cure it fully first, turning the mould over and curing from the back if the piece is deep. Then bend the mould back so the charm lifts out, instead of pulling it by one edge. Wipe off the sticky layer if your gel leaves one, and attach it with rhinestone gel or builder gel.
