      How to choose nail storage

      • Leave room to grow. Pick a bit holder with more holes than the bits you use now, so new shapes and grits have a place.
      • Separate clean from used. Keep one closed box or tray for disinfected implements and a different container for tools waiting to be cleaned.
      • Stainless steel for implements. A metal tray can be cleaned and disinfected like the implements on it; plastic, acrylic and wood organizers are wiped down instead.
      • Sort tips by size. A grid box with one size per compartment makes sizing at the table faster and shows which sizes need restocking.

      Nail storage FAQ

How do I keep drill bits organized and clean?

Clean and disinfect each bit after the client, let it dry, then stand it in a holder sorted by shape and grit. Keep used bits in a separate container until they are cleaned, so dirty and clean bits never share a holder.

What is the best way to store nail tips and press-on nails?

Use a grid box with one compartment per tip size, labelled the same way as the tips. Sizing a client is quicker and you can see at a glance which sizes are running low. Keep each press-on set in its own box so the sizes stay together.

Can a stainless steel implement tray be disinfected?

Yes. Wash off debris, disinfect it with a salon disinfectant for the contact time on the label, then rinse and dry it before laying clean tools back on it. Plastic, acrylic and wooden organizers should be wiped clean rather than soaked.
