Sterilization and disinfection supplies hold salon implements through the cleaning cycle: jars and boxes for soaking cleaned tools in disinfectant, and pouches that keep tools sealed after sterilizing until they are opened for the client. M1 Nail & Beauty Supply stocks sterilization pouches from Chamber, Champion and Ecosafe, a stainless steel sterilizing box from Silver Star and disinfecting jars and drill bit pouches from MNBS.

      How to choose sterilization supplies

      • Clean first, always. Pouches, jars and boxes only work on tools that have been scrubbed free of debris and rinsed; follow the steps your local public health rules require.
      • Buy pouches by the case if you sterilize every day: the Chamber and Champion pouches come in a box of 200 or a full case.
      • Pick the jar by tool length. The tools must be fully covered by the solution, so choose a jar or box deep enough for your longest implement; the Silver Star box comes in four sizes.

      Sterilization and disinfection FAQ

Which sterilization pouch size do I need for nippers and pushers?

Pick a pouch long enough for the whole tool with room above it to seal. The 3.5" x 9.86" and 3.5" x 10" pouches suit nippers and longer implements, 3.5" x 7.48" suits shorter tools, and the 2.25" x 5.25" pouch is made for drill bits.

Can a sterilization pouch be reused?

No. A pouch is opened once, in front of the client, and then thrown away. If a sealed pouch is torn, wet or opened by mistake, the tool goes back through cleaning and into a new pouch.

How often should I change the solution in a disinfecting jar?

Follow the label on your disinfectant: many must be mixed fresh every day. Empty the jar straight away if the solution turns cloudy or has debris in it, and wash and dry the jar before refilling.
