A nail dust collector is a small vacuum that sits under the client's hand and pulls in much of the filing and drilling dust at the source. M1 Nail & Beauty Supply stocks cordless rechargeable and corded table-top collectors from ONME and AMDMG, plus replacement filters for DC5, X10 and X15 collectors and disposable paper filters, for manicure tables and mobile kits.

How to choose a nail dust collector

      • Cordless or corded. A rechargeable unit follows you from table to chair; a corded unit never runs out of charge mid-service.
      • Check the filter before you buy. Make sure replacement filters for the model are easy to get; M1 stocks filters for the ONME DC5, X10 and X15.
      • Place it close. Keep the intake right under the hand you are filing, so dust is pulled in before it spreads across the table.

      Nail dust collector FAQ

How often should I change a nail dust collector filter?

There is no fixed schedule: it depends on how much filing you do. Check the filter every day and replace it when it looks clogged or the suction drops. Use the filter made for your model so it seals properly, and keep a spare at the station.

Does a dust collector mean I can skip the mask?

No. A collector pulls in much of the dust at the source, but not all of it, and it does nothing for product vapours. Most techs pair it with a well-fitted mask and good room ventilation, especially during e-file work and acrylic removal.

Is a cordless dust collector strong enough for salon work?

It can be for manicures and quick removals, and it moves easily between stations. For long acrylic sets at one table, a corded unit runs without a battery to recharge. Some salons keep one of each: corded at the main station, cordless for pedicures and mobile work.
