A salon appointment book is a day-by-day booking diary with one column per technician, so the front desk sees at a glance who is free and when. M1 Nail & Beauty Supply stocks butterfly-cover and leather-look books from Berkeley, appointment books from DND and plain-cover books, from 2 up to 12 columns.

How to choose an appointment book

      • One column per technician. Count the technicians working on your busiest day and pick the column count to match.
      • Check the time slots. The Berkeley books run from 8 am to 8 pm in 15-minute divisions, and the DND book also uses 15-minute slots, enough to book short services such as a polish change.
      • Refillable or replace. The leather-look book keeps its cover and takes new pages; the butterfly and plain-cover books are replaced when they are full.

      Appointment book FAQ

How many columns should my salon appointment book have?

One column for each technician who works on your busiest day. If the team is growing, choose the next size up so a new hire gets a column straight away. Large salons often use the 10- or 12-column books, while a home studio or a two-person shop does well with 2 or 4 columns.

How should I write bookings so the whole team can read them?

Write the client's name, phone number and service in the technician's column, starting at the booked time, and block out the full length of the service. Use pencil so changes stay neat, block lunch breaks too, and keep the same short codes for services across the team.

What is the difference between the Berkeley butterfly and leather-look books?

The butterfly book has 150 pages with a heavy gloss cover, plus a calendar and note pad inside the cover. The leather-look book has 200 refillable pages in a stitched cover you keep. Both come in 4, 6 or 8 columns and run from 8 am to 8 pm in 15-minute divisions.
