How to choose spa salt
- Salon sizes. La Palm and KDS salts come in gallons and 5 gallon buckets, and Gehwol Foot Bath in 400 g, 5 kg and 10 kg, so the back bar can be refilled from one container.
- Tablets for speed. Triple XXX pedicure tablets are one tablet per 5 gallon spa, so there is nothing to measure.
- Jelly soaks for an upgrade. AvryBeauty Gel-Ohh! comes as a Step 1 and a Step 2 for each service; add them in that order, as the pack directs.

What is a jelly pedicure soak?
A soak that turns the water in the tub into a soft, wobbly jelly. With AvryBeauty Gel-Ohh!, Step 1 goes into the warm water first, then Step 2 makes the jelly, and the feet rest in it before the scrub. Follow the pack directions for amounts and for emptying the tub.
Will spa salt foam up in a whirlpool pedicure chair?
It depends on the soak. KDS adds a defoaming agent to its pedicure salt for whirlpool tubs and small foot baths. With bath bombs, jelly or soap-based soaks, start with less than the full dose, run the jets and add more only if the foam stays under control.
Should spa salt dissolve before the feet go in?
Yes. Add the salt while the tub fills with warm water and stir until no crystals sit on the bottom, so the client does not stand on undissolved grains. Tablets and bath bombs fizz away on their own; wait until they have finished.
