Medicool e-file comparison
| Model | Top speed | Battery life | Handpiece weight | Torque | Display | Medicool warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| Pro Power 20K | 30,000 RPM | Up to 10 hours | 4.3 oz | 4.5 Ncm | Not listed | 1 year, extended option |
| Tec-Pro | 30,000 RPM | Up to 10 hours | Not listed | Not listed | LCD | 1 year |
"Not listed" means Medicool does not publish that figure on the product page. All three run forward and reverse, have a twist-lock chuck and take standard 3/32" bits.
Is the Medicool Pro Power 20K a 20,000 RPM drill?
No. According to Medicool, "20K" is the model name, not the speed: the Pro Power 20K runs at 30,000 RPM. The gap to the Pro Power 35K Portable is 5,000 RPM, not 15,000. The larger differences are battery life (10 hours against 20) and the 35K Portable's brushless motor and digital display.
Which Medicool e-file should you choose?
- Full days of acrylic and gel removal: the Pro Power 35K Portable. It has the highest speed and torque of the three, and 20 hours per charge covers more than one working day. It comes in Silver, White Pearl and Rose Gold.
- The lightest handpiece: the Pro Power 20K, at 4.3 oz against 4.9 oz for the 35K Portable.
- The lowest price: the Tec-Pro, which costs about half as much as a Pro Power at M1 and still reaches 30,000 RPM. It suits students, mobile techs and a second station.
Why does a brushless motor matter?
A brushless motor uses magnets instead of carbon brushes to turn the spindle. Medicool states that brushless motors are up to 20% more efficient than brushed DC motors, produce less heat, and can run for tens of thousands of hours, compared with 1,000 to 3,000 hours for an average brushed motor. Of the three e-files here, Medicool describes the Pro Power 35K Portable as brushless.
