What Is a Jelly Pedicure? How AvryBeauty Gel-Ohh! Works, Step by Step
By Edmond Lin, M1 Nail & Beauty Supply, Markham, Ontario. Last updated 9 October 2026. Product details are taken from AvryBeauty's own product information and the packs in our stock.
A jelly pedicure is a pedicure in which the foot soak is a tub of warm, soft jelly instead of plain water. With AvryBeauty Gel-Ohh! Jelly Spa Bath it takes two packets: Step 1 turns the water into jelly, and Step 2 turns the jelly back into water so the tub can be drained. AvryBeauty says the jelly locks in heat to relax tired feet, and presents it as an upgrade to the regular foot soak. The rest of the pedicure stays the same.
In this guide
How Gel-Ohh! works: two packets
| Step 1: Jelly Spa Bath | Step 2: Melting Mineral | |
|---|---|---|
| Net weight on the pack | 1.8 oz (50 g) | 1.8 oz (50 g) |
| Main ingredients | Sodium polyacrylate, fragrance, one plant extract or oil per scent | Sodium chloride (sea salt), sodium bicarbonate |
| What it does | Turns the warm water into jelly | Turns the jelly back into water |
| When it goes in | Before the feet go in | After the soak, before draining |
Why two steps? Sodium polyacrylate is a superabsorbent polymer: its granules soak up many times their weight in water and swell into a soft gel. Salt makes that gel give the water back, which is why Step 2 is sea salt and sodium bicarbonate. This is general chemistry, not a statement from AvryBeauty, but it explains why the jelly should never be sent down the drain before Step 2 has gone in.
How to do a jelly pedicure, step by step
- Fill the pedicure tub with warm water.
- Pour in Step 1, the Jelly Spa Bath, and stir. The water turns into jelly.
- Put the feet in and massage them with the jelly for a few minutes.
- Add Step 2, the Melting Mineral. It turns the jelly back into water.
- Drain the tub and carry on with the rest of the pedicure.
- Open both packets before the client sits down, so Step 2 is within reach when the soak ends.
- Stir after adding each step and give it a moment to work before the feet go in or the drain is opened.
- Jelly is slippery. Dry the feet and wipe any splashes off the floor before the client stands up.
- If your pedicure chair has jets or a pump, check the chair maker's guidance before running them with jelly in the tub.
The five steps are AvryBeauty's. The four notes above are ordinary salon practice, not instructions from AvryBeauty.

Jelly pedicure questions
What is a jelly pedicure?
