Aprés HEMA/TPO-free gel colour on sale. These Gel Couleur shades are formulated without HEMA and TPO, and the newest ones are also TMPTA-free. TPO is a photoinitiator, the ingredient that makes a gel cure under UV/LED light; HEMA is a methacrylate monomer that some clients and techs become sensitised to.
Canada has no HEMA or TPO ban — cosmetics here are regulated by Health Canada under the Food and Drugs Act — but the EU prohibited TPO in cosmetics from 1 September 2025, and manufacturers are reformulating worldwide.
