RefectoCil Mixing Ratio and Timing: Tint, Oxidant and Blonde Brow

By Edmond Lin, M1 Nail & Beauty Supply, Markham, Ontario. Last updated 9 October 2026. Ratios, times and shade descriptions are taken from RefectoCil's own product information (refectocil.at) and the labels on our stock.

RefectoCil lash and brow tint is mixed 1:1 with RefectoCil Oxidant 3%: 0.5 g of tint with 0.5 g of developer, cream or liquid. Leave it on brows and lashes for 5 to 10 minutes. After Blonde Brow the time drops to 1 to 5 minutes, and after a lash lift it is 2 minutes. These are the figures RefectoCil publishes for its Classic Colours. The chart below puts them side by side with the Blonde Brow instructions, which are different.

RefectoCil mixing ratio and time chart

What you are doing Mix Processing time
Tinting brows or lashes with RefectoCil Tint 1:1 with Oxidant 3%: 0.5 g tint + 0.5 g cream or liquid 5 to 10 minutes
Tinting right after Blonde Brow 1:1 with Oxidant 3% 1 to 5 minutes
Tinting right after a lash lift 1:1 with Oxidant 3% 2 minutes
Lightening eyebrows with Blonde Brow 2 cm paste + 20 to 25 drops of Oxidant 3% Cream, stirred for at least 2 minutes 5, 12 or 20 minutes for one, two or three levels

RefectoCil states that a tint lasts up to 6 weeks and that one 15 ml tube is enough for up to 30 applications. At 0.5 g of tint per application, that is the same arithmetic: 15 ml divided by 30.

How to tint with RefectoCil, step by step

  1. Cleanse. Wipe the lids, lashes and brows with Micellar Eye Make-up Remover, even on clients who wear no make-up: it takes off skin oil, and oil-free hair takes the tint better. Saline Solution is the brand's other pre and after cleanser.
  2. Protect the skin. Apply Skin Protection Cream & Eye Mask to the upper and lower lid and around the brow, and place Eye Protection Papers under the lower lashes. Silicone Pads are self-adhesive and need no cream.
  3. Mix fresh. Stir 0.5 g of tint with 0.5 g of Oxidant 3% into a creamy paste, for each client and just before you apply it. The Browista Palette and Ring carry a mark for the mixing ratio.
  4. Apply and time it. Apply to brows and lashes straight away and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Remove. Take the tint off with clean water and cotton pads. Wipe any stains off the skin with Tint Remover, which is formulated for the eye area.
  6. Aftercare.Styling Gel is the day care step. Hold back Care Balm for 24 hours after tinting, because its oils can affect the colour result.

The 8 shades and what each is for

Shade What RefectoCil makes it for
#1 Pure Black Very intense, clear black. For clients with black or dark brown hair.
#1.1 Graphite Made for even, natural coverage of grey or white hairs. Mixed in, it makes other shades cooler.
#2 Blue-Black Black with a subtle blue undertone for extra depth.
#2.1 Deep Blue Intense dark blue, created for blue eyes and blue-violet make-up; recommended for blonde and light blonde clients.
#3 Natural Brown Strong, versatile brown with high coverage for natural brunette results on dark and medium brown hair.
#3.1 Light Brown Natural light brown for light brown and dark blonde hair.
#4 Chestnut Warm brown with fine reddish tones.
#4.1 Red Strong red that suits many red hair tones.
Blonde Brow Bleaching paste that lightens eyebrows by up to three levels. It is not a tint.

The 8 colour shades can be mixed with each other. Graphite is the one RefectoCil points to for cooling down another shade and for covering grey or white hairs.

Blonde Brow: ratio and times

Blonde Brow is sold as one of the options of RefectoCil Tint, but it is a bleaching paste, not a colour. It lightens eyebrows by up to three levels, helps when tinting grey or coarse brows, and lets dark brows take a lighter shade.

Time on the brows Lightening
5 minutes One level
12 minutes Two levels
20 minutes Three levels

Start with clean, oil-free, dry brows. Stir 2 cm of paste with 20 to 25 drops of Oxidant 3% Cream for at least 2 minutes, apply to the eyebrows, and take it off with Micellar Eye Make-up Remover when the time is up. If you tint afterwards, the tint needs only 1 to 5 minutes.

Kits with tint and developer

Two kits pack the tint and developer together: the Solo Kit has one shade with Oxidant 3% Cream, a mini brush and a dish, and the Mini Starter Kit has Blue Black and Natural Brown with Oxidant 3% Liquid and a pair of Silicone Pads. The ratio and times are the same as above.
